What your Credit Score says about you…

July 18th, 2012 -

Your Credit Score is one of the most important aspects about you. Yet many people don’t even know it exists. Your Credit Score is used by financial institutions and other credit agencies every time you apply for credit to assess your credit worthiness.

If you have a high score you are more likely to secure credit. If you have a low score, you may find it hard to obtain credit or you may pay a higher interest rate.

Information on your credit check will include application for a credit card, home loan and hire purchases as well as the name of the credit provider, be it a major bank or finance company.  If you’re maintaining your regular payments then you’re going to have  a really good credit score. If you’re not maintaining your current payments you’re not going to have such a good credit score.

If you have negative information on your file, it will sit there for up to five years. If you are not aware of your credit score, then there is no time like now to find out what it is – you don’t want surprises.  Call into your local branch and we will talk through your Credit Score with you. You can check to ensure your credit history is accurate and up-to-date.
