NZCU Baywide is getting in behind the World Cup with a cross organisation initiative. Each branch within NZCU Baywide has been allocated a World Cup team to support. So during the World Cup a number of activities are planned at NZCU Baywide’s branches from Gisborne, down to Wellington, across to Taranaki and everywhere in between.
Activities include:
• Branch displays in support of their team
• Each Wednesday teams are encouraged to wear the national colours of their country and share experiences of that culture (this usually involves morning tea!)
• A challenge to get photos taken with RWC players
The photo challenge has been taken up with enthusiasm. It is surprising how accessible the players have been! You can see a sample of the photos at www.facebook.com/nzcubaywide.
Hastings even held a parade to pipe in the haggis.
As each rugby team drops out of the World Cup, each NZCU Baywide team will revert ‘back to black’ … until the whole organisation is wearing black in support!
