NZCU Baywide November Newsletter

November 11th, 2011 -
Gavin Earle

Welcome to our November newsletter. I hope that you are enjoying getting these more regular monthly updates from your credit union, to keep you posted of latest happenings.

This month I have been visiting our regional branches with members of your Board to provide an update on the past year, outcomes from our recent AGM and talk about what lies ahead for NZCU Baywide. The support shown by our members has been great and I look forward to making this a regular event around this time each year.

As the end of the year draws closer, we are all looking forward to enjoying Christmas and summer with our families. It will be an even better Christmas for many of our members who have saved a massive $1.7 million in total in their Xmas-saver account – if you don’t have one of these accounts then I recommend that you open one now for next Xmas – just saving $10 per week will give you over $500 towards making next year’s Xmas extra special!

If you’re thinking of upgrading your car, or planning any purchases in the lead up to the Christmas-New Year period, please talk to us first – you may be surprised at what you could save with a loan from NZCU Baywide compared with other providers. You may even win an iPad2!

Get the thumbs up this summer

Summer’s nearly here and so are the celebrations. Christmas, New Year and summer sales! What better time to get a pre-approved loan that’s more affordable than a credit card for your big ticket purchases! Like that new car, bbq, outdoor furniture set or new whiteware to replace those inefficient old appliances!
Everyone who takes out a loan over $2,000 with NZCU Baywide between 7 November 2011 and 27 January 2012 will go in the draw to win an iPad2 (normal lending criteria, terms & conditions apply)*

Porirua Branch Refit

New Look Porirua Branch

The new look Porirua branch is now complete. Our team and Porirua members are enjoying the new branch layout with a comfortable member waiting area and more open and approachable counters. The new external ATM has been installed so Porirua members can now enjoy 24/7 free access to their funds!

NZCU Baywide ATMs free to use

As of 1 November all NZCU Baywide ATMs will be free for members regardless of whether you are withdrawing funds or simply making an enquiry! Other banks’ ATMs will still incur a $1 fee.

Regional Member Meetings a Success

Wellington Member Update Meeting

Over the past few weeks, Chief Executive Gavin Earle and representatives from your Board of Directors have been conducting regional member meetings. The purpose of the regional meetings was to update local members on the past year’s performance and to give members an opportunity to discuss future developments directly with members of the board and management. The meetings have proved to be very successful and it is likely that these will be added to the annual calendar.

Wainuiomata Rugby Club Supporters

For those of you that watched the Rugby World Cup final on TV One, you may have noticed NZCU Baywide’s support of Piri Weepu’s rugby club – Wainuiomata. NZCU Baywide is proud to support the Club – after all, it is the grass-roots clubs like Wainuiomata that the next RWC champions will come from!

We’re Backing the Black Sticks!

NZCU Baywide has joined 22 other businesses as the major sponsors of the Black Sticks. The collective sponsorship will see the two national teams being called the Hawke’s Bay Black Sticks. Read more
