Get your retirement sorted

December 2nd, 2011 -

With the population aging planning for retirement is getting more and more important.

The Commission for Financial Literacy and Retirement Income has a number of useful tools to help New Zealanders financially prepare for retirement – and the sooner you start planning the better you can enjoy your retirement.

The Commission recommends three tips:

Tip 1: Make a plan and review it regularly
Review your plan at least every two years or whenever your financial circumstances change

Tip 2: Involve family
They’ll be affected by your decisions and will be able to offer knowledge and support.

Tip 3: Do a budget
You need to know how much your retirement is going to cost.
